LEWISTON – Robert K. McDonald, 85, formerly of 67 Bridge St., Lewiston, died Sunday, Jan. 25, at Central Maine Medical Center, with his family by his side, after a brief illness.

He was born in Lewiston, Nov. 13, 1923, the son of Ray and Irene (Hodgden) McDonald. He attended Auburn schools and was a 1941 graduate of Edward Little High School.

After high school, Bob joined the U.S. Marine Corps, serving in the Pacific Theater during World War II. After the war, he was employed for Wirthmore Feeds in Malden, Mass., while attending Northeast University in Boston.

After college, he was manager of Paine Incense Co. in Lewiston, until his retirement in 1989. His hobbies included golf, cooking and spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include two daughters, Linda Cristina and her husband, Scott, of Auburn and Diane Thomas and her husband, Kevin, of Lewiston; one sister, Peggy Chisholm of North Conway, N.H.; one nephew, Robert Chisholm of Montana; four grandchildren, Kate-Lynn and Allysa Thomas and Victoria and Kimberly Cristina.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his devoted and loving wife, the former Irene Beauregard on March 21, 1998; and his beloved dog and companion, Dusty.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff of CMMC’s Emergency Room and M1 and to Clover Living Center for the wonderful care given to Bob during these past few years.
