NORWAY – A Paris man was hurt Thursday morning when the truck he was riding in was struck head-on on Route 26 near the Oxford town line.
Peter Seames, 28, of Park Street was treated at Stephens Memorial Hospital in Norway and released, a nursing supervisor said Thursday night.
Seames was riding with Lewis Tracy, 49, of 14 Myrtle St., Paris, about 6:50 a.m. in the southbound lane when the truck was hit by another driven by Beverly Snow, 50, of 283 Allen Hill Road in Oxford, Sgt. James Ventresca said, reading from officer Theron Bickford’s report.
Seames suffered a head injury, but neither Tracy nor Snow was hurt, the report said.
Snow was headed north on Route 26 when another vehicle pulled out in front of her, causing her to swerve into the northbound lane and hit Tracy’s truck heading south, Ventresca said.
No summons was issued, the officer said.
Snow’s 2004 Ford F-150 and Tracy’s 2004 Dodge Dakota sustained an estimated $4,000 each, Ventresca noted from the report.
PACE ambulance responded to the scene.
