I’ve been accused of misstating facts in my letter to the editor, printed Jan. 17. My facts can be found on the Internet, and in encyclopedias, history books, news and the Bible.
Israel has fought eight wars: in 1948, 1956, 1967, 1968-1970, 1973, 1982, 2006, and 2008-09.
United Nations Resolution 242, adopted in November 1967, told Israel to withdraw from territories seized in the Six-Day War and recognize prior borders.
Resolution 337, adopted Aug. 15, 1973, condemned Israel for seizing a Lebanese plane in Lebanon airspace.
According to the Bible, Revelation 7:4-8, there are 12 tribes of Israel, not two.
Abraham’s descendents have populated the entire world (Genesis 13:15-16). A person here might even be a descendant of the 10 lost tribes.
In the Old Testament, God gave Israel land many times, which they lost because they turned away from God. The U.N., European Union, and some countries are accusing Israel of war crimes, crimes against humanity, of using disproportionate force, and use of unconventional weapons.
Gaza is 140 square miles, with a population of 1.5 million. Women and children couldn’t escape or defend themselves.
U.N. and American schools in Gaza do not teach hatred for Jews.
Israel is limiting supplies to Gaza, and sewerage, electric and water systems are collapsing.
I don’t support Hamas but loathe the suffering of the citizens of Gaza, Africa, Iraq, Afghanistan and all repressed people.
