LIVERMORE – Shirley Timberlake Abata, 73, of Livermore, died at home after a short illness, surrounded by family.

She was born on Dec. 23, 1935, in South Livermore, the daughter of the late Stanley and Annie (Mickewic) Timberlake. She was a 1954 graduate of Leavitt and on Aug. 19, 1959, married James Abata.

They lived in New Britain, Conn., for many years, returning to Maine following retirement. She loved to talk with her many internet friends and maintained close contact with her life-long friends and relatives.

Survivors include her brothers, Roland Timberlake and his wife, Christine, of Livermore and John Timberlake and his wife, Flo, of Raeford, N.C.; sister-in-law, Judy Fiorvanti and her husband, Hank, and brother-in-law, Charles Abata and his wife, Faye, all of Connecticut; many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, James.
