LEWISTON – Gerald (Jud) W. Pratt, 87, a resident of Sabattus Street in Lewiston, died Wednesday, Feb. 4, at Central Maine Medical Center.

He was born in Lewiston on Oct. 18, 1921, the son of Ernest Leon and Gertrude (Prescott) Pratt. He was a 1940 graduate of Edward Little High School and served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II in Great Britain and France.

On Dec. 11, 1942, he married Alberta Briggs in Auburn. After working in the automotive field for many years, he was employed as the superintendent of maintenance at Edward Little High School until his retirement.

He was a member of Ancient Brothers Lodge, having twice served as master, as well as a member of York Rites Royal Arch Chapter. He enjoyed gardening, the outdoors and especially spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years of Lewiston; daughters, Rebecca Beam and her husband, Lawrence, of Saco and Alison Orestis and her husband, William, of Stratham, N.H.; a sister, Esther Joan Collins of Old Orchard; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by sisters, Eleanor Cunningham, Thelma Thompson and Maxine Dupill; and brothers, Arthur, Nelson and Ernest Pratt Jr.
