CANTON – Marie J. Bartlett, 91, formerly of Dixfield, died Friday, Jan. 30, at the Victorian Villa Rehab after a long illness.
She was born Feb. 1, 1917, in Rumford, the daughter of William and Harriet (Merrill) Barker. After graduating from high school, she married William Bartlett and pursued her career in telecommunications with New England Telephone of Rumford for 25-plus years before retiring. She enjoyed playing the piano and organ at her church. She did extensive studies on several countries and took particular pride in knowing the Bible inside and out.
She is survived by her niece, Helen Sanborn.
She was predeceased by her husband, William Bartlett; and her brother, Merrill Barker.
