BOWDOINHAM (AP) – Police say two men got away with an undisclosed amount of cash when they robbed a credit union in the small Maine town of Bowdoinham.
Sagadahoc County Sheriff Joel Merry said two black men wearing hooded coats and sunglasses entered Down East Credit Union on Main Street around noon Thursday and handed a teller a note demanding cash. The men indicated they were armed, but no weapon was displayed.
Merry said the men fled in a Ford Explorer, which was later found abandoned in a park-and-ride parking lot next to Interstate 295. Police think the suspects made off in another car that was parked in the commuter lot.
