AUBURN – Auburn Adult Education will offer the following courses beginning this month:
Basic Jewelry Making: Participants will learn to create jewelry using a wire wrap technique that can be used to make any type of jewelry. Tools will be available and kits with all the necessary materials will be supplied at $25 each. The three-week course will begin Monday, Feb. 23. Cost is $35.
Coastal Navigation: Learning to navigate the Maine coast assures safely navigating any coast. Classes will involve chart reading, dead reckoning, plotting tides and currents, bearings, GPS instruction and navigating rules. Textbook, plotting tools and charts are included. The 12-week course will begin Thursday, Feb. 26. Cost is $150.
How Do You Sleep?: This is a health awareness class. Sleep quality is an early indicator of stress in life. Learn new perspectives and basic principles for good health, including nutrition, environmental influences and the effects of the energy in a home or office. Ways to improve sleep and to boost overall energy will be discussed. The two-week course will begin Tuesday, Feb. 24. Cost is $40.
Web Site Design and Management: The class will explore the use of HTML and XHTML, the structure language of the Web and how to upload a Web site to a free hosting provider. Begin building a Web site with hands-on support. The six-week course will begin Wednesday, Feb. 25. Cost is $65.
Middle Eastern Dance (belly dance): Learn about the art of belly dance and the history behind it. Learn basic dance moves and explore a new way of expression. The six-week course will begin Wednesday, Feb. 25. Cost is $60.
H&R Block Itemized Deductions, Schedule A: An experienced tax professional will discuss what is classified as a deductible, itemized expense. Learn record keeping techniques to lower taxes. The one-week course will be held Wednesday, Feb. 25. Cost is $5.
