DIXFIELD – The following incidents were handled recently by the Dixfield Police Department:

Arrest

Scott Allen, 38, Park Street, South Paris, charged with operating under the influence, at 11 p.m., Jan. 31, on Route 2 near the Maine Department of Transportation garage. He was released on $1,000 unsecured bail from the Rumford Police Department. He is scheduled to appear in Rumford District Court on April 7.

Accident

A GMC Yukon sport utility vehicle, year unknown, driven by Michele Hutchins, 39, Old Staples Hill Road, hit a deer at 7:11 p.m., Feb. 2, as she was driving along Route 2. The deer was pushed into the path of a 2006 Dodge Dakota pickup with a plow driven by Robert Staples, 50, Main Street, Jay. The deer was killed. The Yukon sustained $1,500 damage. The pickup was undamaged.

Theft

Someone entered the home of a High Street resident through an unlocked door at 3 a.m., Feb. 5, and stole six to eight Darvocet pills, a controlled substance. Police have a lead.

Burglary

The door of a Kidder Avenue residence was kicked in during the morning hours of Feb. 6. Nothing has been found missing, but about $100 damage was caused to the door.
