The decorating, the planning, and, of course, lots of shopping during the holidays seems so overrated. Everyone was running around making those plans for the holidays. Finally, it came and it seemed like just another day. Of course, there were presents, but the “magic” just wasn’t there. It wasn’t just me, I think my entire family wasn’t exactly excited for that 24 hours. I remember when I used to wake up thinking Santa had come and had seen the blinding light reflecting off the shiny wrapping paper. It was so much better when I still believed in the jolly fat man. Now the only jolly fat man in my life is my dad (no offense). I used to ponder endlessly on the goodies hidden underneath the tree, what’s really under the surface. Now I know exactly what they are, and the family bit is not necessarily there to fill in the gaps. I no longer wait for the magic of holidays I only hope for the vacation days that come with them.
Could the holidays be overrated?
