LIVERMORE FALLS – Former SAD 36 Superintendent Terry Despres’ final paycheck totaled $25,215.

Despres resigned effective Jan. 31 due to personal and health reasons, according to a letter from him accepted by SAD 36 directors.

However, Despres was not active as superintendent as of Jan. 13. That’s when directors voted to hire interim Superintendent David Wallace of Portland and interim assistant Superintendent David Bois of Windham through June 30.

Despres’ last check included $18,636 for contract obligations for sick and vacation days, and $6,579 for salary during his final pay period, including four per diem days, Wallace said.

Wallace and Bois, both retired superintendents, are being paid a combined total of $400 a day or $2,000 a week split how they see fit.

Neither men are accepting health insurance benefits from the district.
