AUBURN – A celebration of life service for Allan B. Martin was held on Saturday at the Court Street Baptist Church. Prelude music was by Marge Perkins and Kathy Haley, with flute and piano respectively. Ushers were grandsons Nolan Martin, Zachary Gagnon and Kent Sommer. Candle lighting was by granddaughters Christi Wilson, Lianna Nyberg and Sandy Gagnon. The church pastor, the Rev. Dr. David Clark, gave words of welcome and the opening prayer, followed by the congregational hymn “How Great Thou Art.” Tributes were offered as follows: on behalf of Allan’s children, Paul Allan Martin; on behalf of the grandchildren, Christi Wilson; on behalf of Allan’s Masonic service, Master Warren Strout; on behalf of Allan’s friends, Gary Crook and Pastor Gary Bragg; on behalf of Allan’s in-laws, Eric Bunford, son-in-law; and on behalf of Allan’s Court Street Church family, Pastor Clark. A musical tribute, “Just As I Am,” with flute and piano was followed by a moving rendition of the anthem “I Am Alive and I Can See,” presented by the church choir under the direction of Mrs. Haley. The words were especially appropriate since Mr. Martin had been blind for a number of years. A time of fellowship and refreshment was held in the church vestry after the service. Arrangements were by the Dillingham & Son Memorial Chapel.
