OXFORD – The Oxford Fire Relief Organization is raising money to buy equipment for the Oxford Fire Department through a comedy show April 9 at Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School in Paris.
Organization President Chad Boulet of Otisfield said the group has contracted LPC Corp. of Framingham, Mass., a professional fundraising company, to solicit donations from Oxford Hills residents and businesses via telephone. The company is also putting the show together and promoting it in exchange for a percentage of the money raised, he said.
Boulet did not disclose what equipment would be purchased for the department, but said they are high-priced items and it will take a couple of fundraisers to pay for them.
The nonprofit Oxford Fire Relief Organization raises money to support the Oxford Fire and Rescue departments.
People who donate receive tickets to the show, Boulet said.
Contributors may have their donations picked up at their home or business, or they may mail them or bring them to the Oxford Public Safety Building, 701 Main St., Oxford, ME 04270 during regular business hours. Checks should be payable to Oxford Fire Relief Organization, he said.
For more information, phone Boulet at 539-2527.
