MINOT – Brenda Lou Palmer, 54, of Minot, passed away in her home on Feb. 16.

She was born on Oct. 31, 1954, at Eastern Maine General Hospital in Bangor. She was a graduate of Edward Little High School, Class of 1973. She earned her associate degree in business from the University of Maine at Augusta in May 2000.

She worked for more than 36 years at Hannaford Supermarket on Spring Street in Auburn, having started as a part-time cashier during her sophomore year in high school, and finishing as an office manager in April 2007.

She was best known for her sense of humor, as well as her love of the outdoors and travel. She spent many summer hours in her garden, and enjoyed taking painting classes, and shopping with friends. She also loved taking trips throughout the state of Maine, New England, and beyond, always looking for treasures in antique shops, or capturing the moment on her always-handy camera.

She is survived by her companion, Dennis DeCoster; his son, Jeremy and his wife, Erin, and their children, Luke and Emma; her mother, Alma Palmer; brother, Ralph Palmer of Minot and his wife, Mary, and children, Jake, Heather, Nicole and Adam; her sister, Pennie Cottrell and her husband, Russell, of Eugene, Ore.; she was a beloved aunt to her nieces and nephews, Thomas and Nate, Amelia and Ethan, Stanley and Charlotte, Belinda and Brett and Lloyd (Rusty); a wonderful great-aunt to Autumn, Aiden and Gracie; she leaves behind aunts, uncles and numerous cousins.

She was predeceased by her father, A.B. Palmer Jr.
