WESTBURY, N.Y. (AP) – Police say a New Yorker doused his friend with tequila and set him on fire during a night of drinking.
Police say 24-year-old Epigmenio Garcia had asked the friend to leave his home in Westbury early Sunday.
When the man refused, police say, Garcia hit him, poured tequila on him, and set him on fire with a lighter.
The victim was treated at a hospital for second-degree burns. Garcia was arraigned Monday on charges of assault and possession of weapons.
