WINDHAM, N.H. (AP) – An ultralight aircraft clipped one home and crashed into the yard of another Tuesday, but a witness said the pilot was conscious and talking.
Monica Jangro, 70, said the aircraft struck the peak of her roof, tearing a hole in it, before crashing into the yard of the house next door, which is under construction.
“I was in the house folding laundry, and there was a big boom. It sounded like my house was exploding,” Jangro said.
Three electricians working on the house being built ran outside to help the pilot and call 911, Jangro said.
“There was a woman trapped inside,” Jangro said of the pilot. “She was awake. She had cuts on her face. She was saying, ‘Please help me.”‘
Windham is a bedroom community just north of the Massachusetts border.
