There will be a student art exhibit at the Portland Museum of Art. If a teacher wants to submit a student’s work, they have to be a member of the Maine Art Education Association. Each art teacher selected someone in their art class for their art work to go into the art exhibit. From Lewiston Middle School, Mrs. Kay Allison selected Tory Reny. Tory Reny was selected for her wonderful water color painting. Mrs. Kate Myrand selected Nasteho Issa. Nasteho Issa was selected for her beautiful self portrait drawing.

You can go see Nasteho’s self portrait drawing and Tory’s water color painting along with other student art work from all over the state from February 21 to March 29. The celebration reception will be on Saturday, March 7, 2009. The kindergarten-fifth grade students will receive their certificates at 5:30 p.m. Sixth-twelveth grade’s will receive their certificates at 6:30 p.m.
