AUBURN – Lucille (Berube) Carrier 83, formerly of Seventh Street, Auburn, died Tuesday, Feb. 24, at Clover Manor Nursing facility with her family at her side.

She was born in Lewiston on Aug. 13, 1925, a daughter of the late Alphonse and Emelina (Landry) Berube. She married the love of her life, Albert Carrier, on Aug. 26, 1946 at St. Mary’s Church.They lived in New Auburn and together raised there 10 children.

For her, there were never any problems or unsurmountable obstacles, only solutions. She was a strong, courageous and compassionate wife and mother, who devoted her entire life and energy to the welfare of her loved ones. She showed us the way, frayed the path and set us forward on our endeavors.. always keeping a vigilant and watchful eye. She will be missed by all family and friends alike. She will also be missed for her ability to sew and make clothes and her wonderful cooking.

She leaves her husband of 62 years, Albert of Auburn; three sons, Raymond Carrier and his wife, Marie-Paul, of Manchester, N.H., Marc Carrier and his wife, Jean, of Minnesota, and Louis Carrier and his wife, Sylvia, of North Haven; six daughters, Therese Demers of Lewiston, Laurette Gosselin and her husband, Roger, of Lewiston, Pauline Gregoire of Sabattus, Jeanne Dore and her husband, Stephen, of Auburn, Jeannette Cook and her husband, Gary Howke, of Virginia, and Louise Robinson and her husband, Stephen, of Poland; a son-in-law, Richard Vaillancourt of New York; 19 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a daughter, Diane Vaillancourt; three brothers, Lionel, Louis and Laurent; a sister, Sister Therse Berube, OSU; two sons-in-law, Jean Demers and Paul Gregoire; and four grandchildren.

The family would like to send a very special thank-you to the entire staff at Clover Manor Side One and Dr. Hattan for the wonderful care Lucille recieved while she was there.
