CARRABASSETT VALLEY – Sugarloaf ski area opened its above-treeline terrain Wednesday on the heels of the snowiest week of the season, a resort spokesman said.
With the Backside Snowfields open to skiers and riders, 100 percent of the resort’s terrain is open, said spokesman Ethan Austin.
In the past six days, the resort has received 39 inches of snow, including 28 inches on Sunday night, Austin said.
So far this ski season the resort’s overall snowfall stands at 167 inches.
