STRATTON – Lynn Davis Fotter, 61, of Stratton, passed away peacefully Feb. 13, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Waterville Aug. 6, 1947, the daughter of Neal and Katherine (Kay) Davis. She graduated from Skowhegan High School in 1965, and went on to graduate from the University of Maine in 1969. Lynn started her teaching career in Connecticut, but soon found out that she missed her home state and returned to teach in Solon. After meeting and marrying the love of her life, Richard E. Fotter, on Aug. 16, 1975, she moved to Stratton where she continued her career. She retired after 33 years of educating children.
She enjoyed reading, puzzles, playing cards and spending time with her husband, family and friends. Even in ill health she was always ready to learn new things, taste new food and see places she hadn’t seen before. She was an inspiration to all who knew her.
She is survived by her best friend and husband, Richard of Stratton; her father, Neal Davis and his wife, Lena, of Dexter; her brother, Colan and his wife, Jayne, of Holden; mother-in-law, Mary Fotter of Winthrop; brother-inlaw, Dan Fotter and his wife, Kim, of New Hampshire; she was a very special “auntie Lynn” to Kellianne Steeves, Tamralyn Gilman, Summer Andrews, Ryan, Dylan and Eric Fotter; and godmother to Michael Dyer, Aaron Dyer, Amos Bean and Aaron Bean.
She was predeceased by her mother, Kay; brothers, Michael and Neal; sister, Lorraine Bagley; and father-in-law, Roland “Sonny” Fotter Jr.
The family would like to thank Dr. Desoi, the Rev. Vicky Carpenter, Alison Dehetre and the rest of the wonderful team at CMMA who made her illness bearable and her passing peaceful.
She was an inspiration to all who knew her.
