JAY – Two men were arrested on drug charges Thursday after drug agents did a check and discovered crushed Oxycodone and methadone sulfate pills and hypodermic needles at the residence.
Brandon D. Gould, 22, and Derek S. Campbell, 23, both of Jay, were arrested on charges of felony unlawful possession of schedule W drugs and violation of conditions of release, Maine Drug Enforcement Agency Supervisor Gerry Baril said. They were not to possess illegal drugs or commit a crime, he said.
Agents Brian Ross and Mathew Casavant stopped by 232 Keep Road in Jay to check that they were abiding by bail conditions and observed hypodermic needles and syringes and crushed tablets, which turned out to be Oxycodone and morphine sulfate, Baril said.
It is only lawful to possess those drugs by prescription and there was no prescription in Gould’s or Campbell’s name, he said.
Gould had in his possession three, 10 milligram tablets of Oxycodone and one 15 milligram tablet of Oxycodone and one, 100 milligram table of morphine sulfate, Baril said.
Campbell was charged in connection with Oxycodone, Baril said, but he didn’t have the information on the amount.
Campbell was previously charged in November 2008 on aggravated furnishing of schedule drugs – marijuana, according to past Franklin County arrest logs.
