PORTLAND (AP) – Maine’s two U.S. represenatives have named a five-member committee to advise them as they prepare to make a recommendation on the appointment of the next U.S. attorney from Maine.

Reps. Mike Michaud and Chellie Pingree say the committee will recommend a number of candidates, and they will then choose one to recommend to President Barack Obama.

Members of the commmittee are University of Maine at Presque Isle President Donald Zillman and lawyers Walter McKee, Virginia Davis, Jeffrey Thaler and Leigh Stevens McCarthy.
