FARMINGTON – A Skowhegan couple accused of breaking into a North Street home and removing a 4-year-old boy earlier this week remained jailed on Wednesday.

Jennifer Woodbury, 26, was being held at the Franklin County Jail on charges of aggravated criminal trespass and criminal restraint by a parent.

Joseph McGee, 31, remained at the jail after he was charged with aggravated criminal trespass in the early Monday morning incident that led to a day-long search for 4-year-old Zion Lawrence, Woodbury’s son.

The boy was unhurt during the ordeal, police said. His father, who lives at the Blueberry Hill apartments where the child was taken, suffered facial injuries during the incident.

The boy was returned to his father.

The case remains under investigation.
