LISBON – After holding two public hearings, councilors voted Tuesday to apply for a $2 million bond issue for several public works projects.

They will also seek a $500,000 bond for a “new versus renovation analysis of the high school.”

Both proposals will go before voters at a referendum April 21.

Town Manager Steve Eldridge said the municipal portion of the proposed budget for the coming year is nearing completion and it will result in no tax increase. The budget will be presented to the Town Council and Budget Advisory Committee at the March 17 council meeting.

In other business, Don Fellows was appointed to fill a vacancy on the budget advisory board’s District 1 seat, which will expire later this year.

Eldridge said he will meet with municipal employees to discuss new health care proposals. The request for proposals was made in an effort to determine if there are less expensive options that could save the town money.
