Augusta – Dora I. St Laurent of Augusta, passed away on Wednesday, March 4, at her residence with her daughter Patricia by her side.

She was born in Poland, the daughter of the late Willie and Honora Ruel Morency. She was educated in Lewiston schools and was married Oct. 2, 1954, to Harry O. St Laurent, who predeceased her on Aug. 2, 2001.

She studied to be a registered nurse in Bridgeport, Conn., and worked briefly at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Connecticut. She moved back to the area in 1954, and established the St Laurent Boarding Homes in 1969, which she owned and operated until her retirement in 1986. Dora was a communicant of Our Lady of the Rosary Church in Sabattus.

She is survived by two daughters, Patricia St Laurent of Augusta and Priscilla Leavitt of Lewiston; four grandchildren, Donna, Candie, Chasity and Paul; six great-grandchildren, Ashley, Scotty, Kirsten, Jacob, Tyler and Niya; a sister, Paquerette Cayer of Monroe, Conn.; a brother, Lionel Morency and wife, Rita, of Lewiston.

She was predeceased by three sisters, Margaret Morency, Cecile Grenier and Doris Berdine; two brothers, Roger and Normand Morency.
