Seniors to meet at American Legion

AUBURN – Robin Down Senior Citizens will meet at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 11, at the Alden M. Gayton Post 31, American Legion, 426 Washington St. The board of directors will meet at 10 a.m. Following the meeting and a bag lunch, bingo will be played.

Tickets will be on sale for $8 for the Easter dinner on Wednesday March 25, with Lucien Marcoux as main chef. Dues for 2009 must be paid to buy a ticket.

The dinner will consist of baked ham with pineapple and raisin sauce, whipped potatoes, buttered green beans, rolls, coffee and dessert.

The group met under the direction of President Virginia Houston on Feb. 25, with 51 members present. Gisele Gagnon was welcomed as a guest. February birthdays were recognized.

The Valentine King, Wallace Dixon, and Valentine Queen, Helen McGuire, were crowned by former king and queen George Remillard and Margaret Merrill. Lucy Cowles was in charge of the program. Dixon and McGuire were each presented a small purse of money. Following the luncheon members played bingo.

Attendance prize winners were Virginia Houston and Marion Drapeau; mystery prize, Lorraine Marcoux, Phillip Cyr and Lucien Marcoux; pot of gold, Sylvia Thibodeau, Thelma Lever and Lucien Marcoux.
