In the legislature, they are thinking about making a four day school week. I know, I know – great. Right? However, did you ever think of all of the negatives about this change as well as the positives?

If we changed our week to a day less, things could go terribly wrong. For one, the day would have to be at least an hour longer, and everything would have to be crammed into those four days. Did you ever think about those kids who do sports or extracurricular activities? They wouldn’t have enough time to do homework and their choice activity, too, because after school time would be limited.

And what about those elementary school children? What do their parents do with them? All those kids can’t go to daycare. It just isn’t fair for those parents.

Now that you hear my cons, all you kids who still think this is a great idea probably never thought this through. We might have to get to school earlier, or even cut into our summer vacation time. A pro might be that it would save gas money on buses, but are there any other positives?

So the next time you’re thinking four-days-is-so-cool, re-think your thoughts and think of the cons as well as the pros.
