Times are tough, but the students at Tripp Middle School are still going on a vacation. In social studies, each student picks a country in Latin America to spend a week vacation there. Students have to book their own flights, reserve their own hotel/resort, and plan activities over the course of five days. The goal of this assignment is for students to discover the history of their country on their own. I chose the country of Belize for my trip. On the first day I flew out of Logan International. Airport in Boston, Massachusetts. I arrived in Belize City at 2 p.m. My trip consisted of diving in the Blue Hole, touring the ancient ruins city of Altun Ha, and going cave tubing. On my last day, I went island hopping and took a water taxi to a hotel at Belize Island. On my trip, I had to stay seven nights and eight days because travel to and from Belize out of Boston is only available on Saturdays. My week was still packed with adventure and I enjoyed every piece of my virtual vacation.
We’re going on a vacation!
