Wayne Slattery, owner of the West Minot Sugar House, monitors the maple sap flow at his pumping station Tuesday. The staff of the sugarhouse is preparing for Maine Maple Sunday on March 22. Slattery has more than 3,000 taps on trees this season. He is using a network of more than 3 miles of pipe and a pumping station to harvest the sap. The West Minot Sugar House will have a maple bean supper every Saturday in March from 5 to 7 p.m. at its business on Route 124.
