OXFORD – Two people escaped injury early Wednesday morning when a driver lost control of his car and it skidded across into a truck on Route 121 near Lashin’s Auto Sales and Salvage Yard.

Police Chief Jon Tibbetts said a 2004 Taurus driven west on Route 121 by Jason Walker, 31, of Oxford, hit slush about 7:30 a.m., went out of control and crossed the center line, hitting a tractor-type truck at an angle on the front end.

The 2000 Peterbilt truck was not hauling a trailer. It was driven by Stephen Hill, 66, of Oxford.

Damage to the truck was on the right front and bumper and wheel and was estimated at about $2,000. The car had about $1,000 damage to the right front, Tibbetts said.

No citations were issued.
