RUMFORD – Leo Paul Marquis, 80, of Rumford, died Tuesday, March 10, at the Rumford Community Home.

He was born in Livermore Falls on July 27, 1928, a son of Amatle and Clothilde (Phillippon) Marquis and graduated from Livermore High School, Class of 1948.

He was employed on the super calendars at Boise Cascade Paper Co. in Rumford for more than 37 years, until retirement in 1986.

He was a communicant of the Parish of the Holy Savior (St. Athanasius-St. John Church) in Rumford. He was a member of the Rumford Falls Aerie 1248, F.O.E., and a former member of Le Paresseux Snowshoe Club.

He was married in Rumford on April 23, 1960, to the former Marian T. Martin, who died in Rumford on June 3, 2000.

Survivors include many nieces and nephews; and a special brother-in-law, Willie Martin of Rumford.

He was predeceased by brothers, Gratien “Mike,” Unald “Joe,” Raymond and Paul Marquis.
