Educators to meet

PARIS – The Oxford County Education Association-Retired will meet on Friday, March 20, at the First Congregational Church. The social period will start at 10:30 a.m. and the business meeting at 11.

The after-lunch program will be on what’s new at the libraries. The scholarship fundraiser will be a book sale.

All retired teachers and support personnel are welcome. If not on a phone tree, call 743-7677 to reserve a lunch.

Final supper

HEBRON – The Hebron Baptist Church Outreach Committee will have the last supper of the season from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, March 21, at the church, Chapel Drive. Take-out is available.

On Saturday, April 18, the church will have an Italian meal for the foreign mission project.

Pizza contest

OXFORD – The second annual Best Pizza Contest will be held from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 21, as a fundraiser for the Oxford Recreation Department.

The event will be held at the Station House Community Center. People may vote for their favorite pizza in the Oxford Hills area. There will be a minimum of $2 to enter.

Winterfest fun

RUMFORD – Winterfest 2009 was just the kind of event Black Mountain of Maine hoped it would be: something affordable for everyone.

New faces appeared on the mountain all weekend, taking part in activities from skiing and snowboarding to lift rides, dog sled rides, sleigh rides, barbecues, sledding, air jumps and a fireworks display.
