FARMINGTON – Colonial Daughters Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, will honor seven seniors from seven high schools named DAR Good Citizens on Tuesday, March 24, at Old South Congregational Church.
Three of the honorees will take special parts in the day’s meeting and ceremony. A special flag ceremony will be performed by Megan Elizabeth Arsenault of Rumford, who is a member of the Civil Air Patrol. Samantha Olivieri of Rangeley will sing the national anthem.
The applicant for the scholarship contest forwarded to the state level will read her essay. That person’s name will not be available for release until the award ceremony, according to Regent Theo Ross.
A potluck luncheon will be served to guests and members at noon. Deborah Judkins, Good Citizens chairwoman, will present the awards. Dave Fuller will present a slide show on “Maine Spruce Gum.” Men are invited along with families/guests of the students.
