LEWISTON – Blanche A. Tardif, 95, formerly of 13 Jefferson St., passed away on Sunday, March 15, at St. Mary’s d’Youville Pavilion. She had previously resided at Auburn Residential Care for the past five years.

She was born at St. Cyprien, P.Q., Canada, June 5, 1913, the daughter of the late Joseph and Marie Malenfant Caron. She was educated in Canadian and Lewiston schools, moving to this country at the age of nine. She was married to Clarence Tardif.

Prior to her retirement, she was employed many years as a teacher’s aide for the foster care program at the Lewiston Multi-Purpose Center, where she enjoyed caring and supervising children. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Church and enjoyed walking everywhere and chatting with people she met along the way.

She is survived by a daughter, Monique Robitaille and husband, Ronald, of Norton, Mass.; two sons, Laurier Tardif and wife, Helen, of West Milford, N.J., and Richard J. Tardif of Nederland, Colo.; two grandchildren, Michael Tardif of New Jersey, and David Tardif of Washington, D.C.; a sister, Lorraine Langlois of Lewiston; and a brother, Ralph Caron of Auburn.

She was predeceased by three sisters, Annette Violette, Delima Cloutier and Laurette Chasse; and three brothers, Charles, Sam and Leo Caron.
