FARMINGTON – A free forestry workshop will offer master loggers credits for attending from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 24, in the North Dinning Hall, University of Maine at Farmington. It is being hosted by Franklin County Soil and Water Conservation District.
The workshop is open to all forested landowners throughout Franklin and Oxford counties as well as anyone else who wishes to learn more about the program.
Andy Shultz of the Maine Forest Service and Sally Butler of the USDA’s Natural Resource Conservation Service will be among the presenters.
There will be a brief update on forestry in the 2008 Farm Bill, with information on available cost share money. There will also be discussion on the program flowchart for land owners, with time for questions and answers.
