AUBURN – Bernard “Bernie” Woodcock Sr., 75, of Leeds, died early Monday, March 23, at the Androscoggin Hospice House.

He was born on July 5, 1933, in Chesterville, the son of Leo Woodcock and Louise DeRocco. Bernie attended local schools.

He worked at various shoe shops as a machinist in both Maine and Massachusetts, and later drove a cement truck for Williams Concrete, until the time of his retirement.

He enjoyed the outdoors, four-wheeling, snowmobiling and hunting. He belonged to the local ATV club and also enjoyed bowling with his wife, Sherry Flagg, whom he married on Jan. 12, 1974 in Lewiston. She died on April 2, 2007.

He is survived by three sons, Gary Woodcock and his wife, Darlene, of Hastings, Fla., Albert “Woody” Woodcock and his wife, Dorita, of Jay and Bernard “Woody” Woodcock Jr. and his wife, Dawn, of Auburn; a daughter, Karen Pantinas and her husband, Charles “Chuck,” of Newton, N.H.; and 18 grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a brother, Robert DeRocco.
