FARMINGTON – Ronald Cabe of Strong pleaded not guilty to two counts of aggravated trafficking in marijuana and two counts of aggravated marijuana cultivation Friday in Franklin County Superior Court.
Police said they seized 30 pounds of marijuana from 52-year-old Cabe’s Norton Hill Road home in October 2008. The street value of the pot was estimated at $72,000, police said.
Police found 21 mature marijuana plants, 20 plants growing inside and one growing outside, Franklin County Sheriff’s Lt. Niles Yeaton said at the time.
Some marijuana had been processed and was hanging to dry and about 10 pounds of it was packaged, he said.
In late January, Maine Drug Enforcement Agents arrested Cabe again after they searched his home and found 95 plants in various stages of growth and about a quarter-pound of dried, processed marijuana.
Besides the drug charges, Cabe pleaded not guilty to criminal forfeiture of property and violating condition of release.
