LEWISTON – Two veterans of the Lewiston Fire Department retired recently.

Don Bannister, a 30-year veteran, joined in June 1978 and was promoted to lieutenant in June 1995. In his spare time, he studied his family genealogy and now can go back years and continents. With his wife, Sue, the couple will be living in Florida for the winter months.

George “Skippy” Wright joined the department in 1984 and served for 25 years. Wright and his wife, Irene, plan to spend some time out West, traveling possibly to Arizona.
