MANCHESTER, N.H. (AP) – Police say a Manchester, N.H., woman has been seriously hurt after she was attacked by her son’s pit bull.
Police say 78-year-old Mary Tate was hospitalized with a leg injury Wednesday night.
Her son, Scott Tate, brought the dog with him on a visit from California.
The dog was in Mary Tate’s basement. Police tell WZID that she went to the basement when the dog lunged at her and had to be pried off of her leg.
Scott Tate surrendered the dog to animal control officers.
He said the dog had a history of nipping at people, but had never attacked anyone before.
