ST. JOHN, New Brunswick (AP) – Maine and Canadian lobstermen are gathering in New Brunswick for their annual Canadian-U.S. Lobstermen’s Town Meeting to discuss issues affecting the lobster industry.

This is the sixth year the event has been held. It is hosted by The Lobster Institute at the University of Maine.

The two-day meeting, which ends Saturday, is being held this year in St. John, not far from the Maine border.

The primary focus of the meeting is the status of the lobster resource, but other topics that are likely to be discussed include water quality, offshore drilling, offshore wind farms and stock enhancement efforts.
