AUBURN — Firefighters battled a blaze at a lakeside home on Garfield Road Monday morning.
Flames licked at the eaves of the 1 1/2 story home and sparks popped from power lines. A neighbor spotted smoke billowing from the unoccupied house shortly after 9 a.m. After knocking on the door and getting no answer, Tim Priestly saw flames and called 911.
The converted seasonal home sits on the shore of Taylor Pond.
Firefighting vehicles units from Poland, Minot, Auburn and Lewiston were at the scene.
