Benefit dinner
HEBRON – The Hebron Parent Teacher Association is hosting a benefit spaghetti dinner for the Volpe family, who recently lost their home in an accidental explosion. The dinner will be held from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 3, at the Hebron Station School cafeteria, 884 Hebron Station Road. Tickets are $5 each and will be available at the door only. Take-out dinners will also be available.
Anyone willing to donate items to the dinner can contact Scott Bourget at 966-2626 or Katie Letourneau at 966-2267.
Donations may be sent to the Volpe Family Benefit Account, Norway Savings Bank, Box 347, Norway, ME 04268.
Seniors to meet
MECHANIC FALLS – The Mechanic Falls Senior Citizens will meet at 11:30 a.m. Monday, April 6, at Bucknam Oaks. Dinner will be served at noon.
Members are asked to bring casseroles, and the refreshment committee will furnish dessert.
Coffee will be served.
There will be a silent auction following the meeting. Members are reminded to bring items for the auction. The 2009 membership dues are still being collected.
Breastfeeding
AUBURN – Expectant women and breastfeeding mothers are invited to the La Leche League meeting to be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 8, at 102 Bennett Ave. Babies are welcome.
This month’s discussion will focus on “Breastfeeding: The Mother-Baby Relationship and the Weaning Process.” All concerns about breastfeeding are welcome for discussion.
For breastfeeding help or directions to the meeting, call the La Leche League leader at 782-6645.
Bridge play
LEWISTON – The Lewiston-Auburn Social Bridge Club winners of the quarterly club championship at the Multi-Purpose Center on March 30 were: first, Mary Leahey and Roger Labbe; second, third, fourth tie, Paul Mitnik and Henry Lerette, Lue Bilodeau and Luke Merry and Jan Arey and Linda Leotsakos; first in B, Marta Clements and Errol Libby
Games are played at 9 a.m. Mondays and Tuesdays at the Multi-Purpose Center and at 6:30 p.m. Wednesdays at Schooner Estates in Auburn. A partner is guaranteed.
