Dubay, art class are artists of the month

FARMINGTON – SugarWood Gallery will host Joyce Dubay of New Vineyard and her art class as Artists of the Month during April at the Broadway Gallery.

Dubay is a native Mainer who has been an art instructor at SAD 9 Adult Education for a number of years. The exhibit will show her current students’ accomplishments. Their work includes a variety of drawings, oil paintings, watercolors and mixed media.

Dubay works in several media and many subjects, always in a realistic style. She is well-known for doing animal paintings. She does commission work and will work on location.

Dubay has been drawing all of her life and has been painting for more than 40 years, winning many awards along the way. Her work is also on display at the Franklin County Chamber of Commerce building.

An open house to introduce Dubay, her students and their work will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, April 3, and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 4.
