LEWISTON – The Androscoggin County Chamber of Commerce will hold its monthly Brown Bag Roundtable Discussion event for its members April 7 from noon to 1:15 p.m. at the chamber office, 415 Lisbon St. Members bring their questions (and their lunch) and learn from other members by sharing information, knowledge, and experiences through informal discussions on business-related topics.

Scott Simmonds, CPCU, principal of Insurance Consultants of Maine Inc., will be the presenter for the no-cost event. The topic will be “The Insurance Hater’s Guide to Insurance.”

Simmonds started his insurance career in 1979. He is a graduate of Babson College, Wellesley, Mass. In 1987 he received the certified insurance counselor designation from the Society of CIC. In 1995, he completed his studies to qualify for the chartered property and casualty underwriter designation conferred by the American Institute for CPCU. He completed the requirements for the Insurance Institute of America’s associate in risk management designation in 2005. Simmonds runs a successful consulting firm from his home in Saco.
