Augusta – Cecil W. Brackley, 89, a resident of Park Street, Livermore Falls, died Sunday, April 5, at Togus Veterans Hospital in Augusta.

He was born Jan. 30, 1920, in Freeman, the son of Warren and Ruth (Aldrich) Brackley. He attended school in Freeman. He served in the U.S. Army in Europe during World War II. In 1940, he married Gladys Towensen in Strong. Cecil worked for Livermore Shoe in Livermore Falls and Bass Shoe in Wilton. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and took special pride in his vegetable and flower gardens.

He is survived by his wife, Gladys Brackley of Livermore Falls; many nieces and nephews and special friends, Raymond and Lenora Tilton of Wilton, Roberta Hutchinson of Turner, Shirley Hersey of Auburn and Corey and Michelle Robbins of Jay.

He was predeceased by three brothers; and four sisters.
