MEXICO – The following accidents were handled by Mexico police:

• A Mexico Water Department pickup truck driven by James White, 55, Roxbury Road, Mexico, struck a deer at 6:25 a.m. March 28 on Route 2 near Naples Packing Co. The deer was able to get back onto its feet and ran toward the river. The 2005 Chevrolet sustained about $1,200 damage.

• A vehicle driven by Grace Pike, 20, of York Street, Rumford, was struck by a deer at 9:34 p.m. April 1 as she was driving south on Route 17 between the Black Bridge and the Mexico Recreation Park. The deer jumped from the side of the road and hit the driver’s side of the vehicle. The deer fled into the woods and could not be located. The vehicle sustained minor damage.
