AUBURN – The Formsource Golf League, held Wednesday nights at Fox Ridge Golf Club, will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 14 at Gipper’s to discuss team participation for the upcoming season. The format of 16 two-person teams will remain intact. All players planning to participate should attend.

Poland Knights baseball golf scramble on tap

POLAND – The Poland Regional High School Knights Baseball golf tournament is scheduled for Saturday, May 16 at Fairlawn Golf Club. Check-in time is noon with a 1 p.m. shotgun start. Format is a scramble with four-person teams. Cost is $50 per player and $200 per team, which includes greens fees, cart and dinner. There will be prizes, a raffle, a 50/50 drawing and other contests. Registration must be made by May 13 to PRHS Knights Baseball, in care of Tasha Cooper, 103 Cross Road, Minot, Maine 04258.

Several levels of sponsorship also are available for the tournament. They include hole or tee sponsorship ($100), cart sponsorship ($50) or gift certificates or merchandise to be used as prizes and in raffles. Good Shepherd tourney at Fox Ridge Golf Club

AUBURN – Fox Ridge Golf Club will host the inaugural fishing and golf tournament to benefit Good Shepherd Food-Bank on Friday, May 15. Registration begins at 5:30 a.m.

Fishing starts at 9 a.m.on all three ponds on the course. One large rainbow trout is worth $100 in each pond. Each brown trout caught is worth one foot toward a 10-foot string for each hole. No fishing license is required.

Golf tees off at 10 a.m. with a scramble and shotgun start. Prizes include closest to the pin, longest drive and a putting contest. Coffee and muffins will be served before the event with a barbecue after the golf is complete. Prizes will be awarded for both competitions.
