BOSTON (AP) – Pack is back.

Boston police say a bronze duckling named Pack has been recovered after being stolen from the beloved “Make Way For Ducklings” sculpture in the city’s Public Garden.

Police say the sculpture was found next to a tree by residents out walking at about 2:40 Tuesday morning on a street corner not far from the Garden. The statue is currently in the custody of the city parks department.

A park ranger discovered Pack’s theft early Monday.

Pack is the next to last of the eight ducklings lined up behind Mrs. Mallard in the sculpture inspired by Robert McCloskey’s children’s book “Make Way for Ducklings.”

He’s not the first to be stolen. Quack, Mack and Jack have gone missing over the years. All were recovered or replaced.
