LIVERMORE FALLS – Nomination papers are available for three selectman positions and three SAD 36 school directors to be elected in June. Papers are due back by the end of Friday, April 24.

In the meantime, selectmen continue to search for a town manager. The board is holding a third interview in executive session with a candidate at 5 p.m., Thursday, April 9, at the town office, select board Chairwoman Louise Chabot said Wednesday.

Chabot said she plans to run again for the board. She is hoping others will take out papers as well.

“It’s a good way to serve your community, but it also gives you a different perspective on town government,” she said. “There are no simple answers. It’s a difficult balance to please the citizens and do what’s best for the town. However, it’s an enjoyable challenge.”

Chabot has taken out papers for a three-year selectman position held by David Lemire. He is not seeking re-election.

The other two positions open are the two-year term that Chabot holds and a one-year term to finish out Ernie Souther’s term.

Selectmen accepted Souther’s resignation Monday as of March 30.

Terms open on the SAD 36 board are two, three-year positions held by Vice Chairman Fred Nadeau and Mac Haynes. There is also a one-year seat to fill out the rest of Rhonda Drake’s term.
