DIXFIELD – The following incidents were handled by the Police Department.

Arrest

• Wendy Knapp, 47, Highland Avenue, Dixfield, on a charge of domestic assault, at midnight April 3 at Highland Avenue.

She was taken to the Dixfield Police Department, then released on $400 unsecured bail. She is to have no contact with the victim. She is scheduled to appear in Rumford District Court on May 5.

Accidents

• Eric Hamann, 22, of Peru was seriously injured at 4 a.m. Saturday, April 4, when his vehicle crossed the centerline on Route 142 and rolled over. Sgt. Jeff Howe said Hamann was driving north in his 1999 Pontiac sedan when it drifted across the southbound lane, went off the road, rolled over and landed on the passenger side.

He was taken to Rumford Hospital and then to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston with broken bones and bruises, Howe said. A nursing supervisor was not available Thursday night to provide information about Hamann.

Hamann was not wearing a seat belt, Howe said. The car was destroyed.

• Lila Balch, 65, of Walker Hill Road, Wilton, was driving a 2002 Mini-Cooper west on Route 2, at 2 p.m. April 9 when a deer hit her car near Canton Point Road. The deer died; the car sustained $3,000 damage.
